Fell & Sell Destructible Dungeons
Demo 2.0 brought destructible rooms to Fell & Sell. Here is how to use them.
Patch 2.0, released as Demo 2.0 on 21 August 2026, introduced destructible dungeon environments — a feature that fundamentally changes how you read and navigate a floor. Walls, barriers, and environmental objects can now be broken, revealing hidden paths, shortcuts, and secret rooms that were invisible in the July demo. This page explains what changed, where destructible elements appear, and how to incorporate them into your run strategy.
What destructible environments are
In the July demo, dungeon rooms were static. Doors were doors, walls were walls, and the only way forward was through the path the generator left open. Demo 2.0 changed that. Certain environmental elements — crates, weak wall sections, barrels, wooden barriers — can now be destroyed with attacks. Breaking them opens new routes, creates shortcuts, and sometimes reveals entirely new areas that the original floor layout appeared to block.
This is not cosmetic. A destroyed wall can mean the difference between a dead-end room with nothing and a secret cache of high-value loot. The studio’s own description for Demo 2.0 called out destructible rooms as a headline feature alongside the 30–40% FPS improvement and the new customer traffic system.
Where to find destructible elements
Based on how the feature works in the full release, destructible elements appear most often in:
- Cell rooms — Breakable cell walls that connect adjacent chambers, letting you skip combat-heavy corridors
- Dead-end alcoves — Weak wall sections at the back of apparently empty rooms
- Barrel and crate clusters — Common in storage areas; destruction can reveal a passage underneath
- Secret room walls — Thinner or differently textured wall sections that signal a hidden room nearby
The game does not highlight destructible elements with a special visual cue. Learn to recognise the difference between a solid wall and a section that reacts to attacks. If a wall section takes damage when you swing at it, it is meant to break.
Strategic uses
Shortcuts and escape routes
The most immediate benefit is route optimisation. If a generator creates a long corridor with a destructible wall at the end, breaking through cuts your travel time significantly. During a timed run or when you are heavily loaded with loot, a shortcut can mean the difference between extracting safely and dying with a full bag.
Secret room discovery
Some secret rooms are only accessible by destroying a specific wall. The August 21 post mentioned players discovering unseen enemies and new areas through Demo 2.0 content creators were exploring. Many of those discoveries came from players attacking thin-looking wall sections and finding a room the generator had concealed.
Combat positioning
Breaking a wall during combat can reshape an encounter. Destroying a barrier between you and a ranged enemy removes their cover. Breaking a wall to create distance from a melee swarm can give you breathing room to heal or reposition. The environment is now part of your toolkit, not just the backdrop.
Cell room escapes
Cell rooms that stayed locked after clearing were a launch-week complaint addressed in the 27 August Gamepad Support patch. With destructible environments, you can often break out of a cell room even if the gate fails to open, rather than relying on the unstuck button from Ver. 1.1.1.
Connection to Ver. 1.1.1 fixes
Version 1.1.1 on 29 August delivered the save system overhaul, house-wipe fix, Unstuck button, and Return to Village button. The destructible environment feature predates these fixes — it arrived with Demo 2.0 on 21 August. However, the combination matters for run recovery: if you get stuck in geometry, try breaking nearby walls before using the Unstuck button. If you want to exit with your haul intact and a door is blocking your path, attack the environment rather than dying.
Combining with altar builds
Destructible environments pair particularly well with the Midas Touch altar. If you are converting heavy items to gold, a secret room full of weapon racks and armor stands is significantly more valuable than one full of light junk. Break everything and let Midas convert the output.
The Tiny Size altar also changes how you interact with destructible spaces. Your smaller hitbox lets you access gaps that normal-size characters cannot fit through, which sometimes means reaching wall sections that are otherwise hard to reach with attacks.
Performance impact
Demo 2.0 delivered a 30–40% FPS improvement alongside the destructible environments. If you were running the July demo and found the performance heavy, 2.0 is a meaningful improvement. The feature did not come with a performance penalty — the engine optimisation was part of the same update.

FAQ
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| When did destructible dungeons arrive? | Demo 2.0 on 21 August 2026, which shipped with the full game on 26 August. |
| Can any wall be destroyed? | No. Not every wall section is destructible. Solid stone walls cannot be broken. Look for thin sections, crates, barrels, and wooden barriers. |
| Does destroying walls affect FPS? | No — the same update delivered a 30–40% FPS boost. Performance improved, not degraded. |
| Are secret rooms only reachable through destructible walls? | Some are. The generator conceals certain rooms behind breakable sections. Attack thin-looking walls in dead-end rooms to check. |
| Can I use this to escape a stuck cell room? | Often yes. If the gate stays shut, try attacking nearby destructible walls. The Unstuck button (Ver. 1.1.1) is the fallback. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When did destructible dungeons arrive in Fell & Sell?
Demo 2.0 on 21 August 2026. The full release on 26 August shipped with this feature included. It was one of the headline additions alongside the 30-40% FPS boost and increased shop traffic.
Can all walls be destroyed in the dungeon?
No. Solid stone walls are permanent. The destructible elements are specific environmental objects — crates, barrels, thin wall sections, and wooden barriers. A wall that reacts to your attacks by showing damage is meant to be broken.
Do destructible environments affect performance?
No — the opposite. Demo 2.0 shipped with a 30-40% FPS improvement as part of the same update. Performance improved while this feature was added.
How do I find secret rooms behind destructible walls?
Look for thin-looking or differently textured wall sections in apparently dead-end rooms. Attack them. If the wall takes damage and eventually breaks, a secret room or passage is on the other side.
Can I use destructible walls to escape a locked cell?
Often yes. If a cell gate fails to open after clearing enemies, try attacking nearby destructible sections. The Ver. 1.1.1 Unstuck button is the fallback if no destructible path exists.
